Plasma Cutter For Any Garage
A plasma cutter uses electrify and compressed air to push though the metal like a hot knife though butter.
My first experience with a plasma cutter was when I was at WyoTech. Learning to cut with it and a torch was part of the curriculum. The torch was messier and didn’t make as nice of a cut so naturally I gravitated to the plasma cutter. In school we got to cut pieces of scrap metal, but not all of us could apply the cutting technique to a car. After school while working at Dominator Street Rods I cut the firewall of a ‘67 Nova out with this cool tool. I was very impressed! Even though the paint and undercoating it cut with ease. I had to have one for myself.
Lincoln Electric MIG Welder and Plasma Cutter
The shop unit was rather large and I knew that’s not what I wanted for my home-garage. I wanted something that would run off the same power as a microwave, and be light enough for me to load into my truck by myself. I found Lincoln’s Pro-Cut 25 to fit the bill quite nicely. It retails around $1,300, comes with an acessory kit to keep it running nicely for a long time, and they are usualy in stock at Sears! It weighs less than 30-lbs so I can move it around easily. It’s also small enough to fit in the cart I have my MIG welder on!
